Listening to your people

taylors

WPR undertook a Culture Review for Taylors Contracting talking to staff based in Nelson Tasman and Christchurch to provide a snapshot for the Taylors’ board.

Recommendations from the Culture Review have positively impacted on all areas of the business, including health and safety, internal communication, and team culture.

Benefits

People within the business used the review process to raise concerns, suggest ideas, and truly reflect on the benefits of working with Taylors.

The process improved morale and engagement, and the results of that engagement can still be seen today. As an example, the percentage of opens on the company’s weekly newsletter is 75% to 80% on average, compared to the industry average of less than 40% (Mailchimp data).

Jacquie has worked with Taylors Contracting for three years. Initially the goal was to help our business with media relations and reputation management. However, her contribution quickly evolved to include improving internal communications within the company by developing and writing a weekly newsletter, and promoting the company through its social media channels. Over time and working collaboratively with Taylors’ staff, Jacquie has enabled us to produce an annual year in review document, and facilitated a major website upgrade. She attends weekly senior staff meetings, provides advice on stakeholder relationships, and supports our team with our full range of external communication activities. Jacquie understands our industry and the importance of showcasing our strengths and capabilities to the market as well as developing a healthy workplace culture.
